Our History
The College of Political Science at Salahaddin University-Erbil was established in 2019, marking a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to expanding academic excellence in the social sciences and humanities. Founded during a period of regional transformation and growing emphasis on democratic governance in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the college emerged as a response to the increasing demand for qualified professionals in political analysis, public administration, and international relations. The establishment of the college represented Salahaddin University’s strategic vision to strengthen its role as a leading educational institution in the Kurdistan Region, providing specialized education that addresses both local governance needs and international diplomatic requirements. The timing of its founding coincided with the region’s growing engagement with international communities and the need for skilled professionals who could navigate complex political landscapes both domestically and internationally.
